Violin (I)

If you close your eyes and just listen, listen, listen

You can erase your body and forget about breathing and heart beating

The slide of the bow across strings slips through the air and strokes your cheek gently, luring, luring, luring

Asking to devour you politely but you just want to take it all at once and become drunk off of its tempting sound

You silently plead and beg but it won’t give it because it wants to have its way with you

The music is in charge – it is dominant, controlling, and like the wind it listens to no one and delivers when and where and wants.
